Merton Mecap is a registered charity which provides support to people with learning disabilities. They organise and run many projects for children, young people and adults.
Merton Mencap have started a new project called Gateway Active Award, which is a project that gives members a chance to receive an award for all the work they do. One of the sections on the award is volunteering. Members will be doing some volunteering at the Mitcham Carnival, where they will have an activity stand to make jewellery.
We have donated a colourful array of beads and cords to help Merton Mencap to make bracelets and create awareness about adults and children with learning disabilities.
The 2012 Mitcham Carnival will take place on Saturday 2nd June on Three Kings Piece, Commonside West, Mitcham. Come along, have fun and show your support!
